Common questions
I didn’t get a sign-in code
Check your spam or junk folder, and that you entered your email address correctly. Codes expire after a while, so always use the newest one. To get a fresh code, tap “Send a new code” on the code screen.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone, open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Podstill. Or open the App Store, tap your profile picture, then Subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to stop the next renewal. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
How do I restore my purchases?
In Podstill, tap your avatar in the top bar to open your account and settings, then tap “Restore purchases”. It’s also on the plans screen. Make sure your iPhone is signed in to the Apple Account you bought with.
Can I get a refund?
Apple handles payments and refunds for everything you buy in Podstill. Ask for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can’t issue refunds ourselves.
How does summary time work?
- A gist uses the episode’s length, rounded up to the next full minute.
- If a summary fails, the time comes back to you.
- Every account starts with 3 hours of summary time for free, once.
- Plans add an allowance every month, and it’s used first. Unused allowance expires when the next one is added, except on Pro, where up to 10 hours carry over.
- Top-up time and the free hours never expire.
The details are in the terms of use.
How do I delete my account?
In Podstill, tap your avatar in the top bar, then “Delete account”. This deletes your account and the personal data linked to it right away. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel your subscription, so cancel it in your Apple Account settings as well (see above).
How does personalization use my data?
Personalization is optional. If you allow it, what you’ve told Podstill about your work, your goals and your interests is sent to our AI provider with each episode, so your gist can say why the episode matters to you. Your name and email address are never sent. You can switch personalization off at any time: tap your avatar in the top bar and turn off “Personalize with AI” under Personalization. While it’s off, nothing from your profile is sent, and gists are written for a general listener. The privacy policy has the details.
Which shows work with Podstill?
Any show with a public RSS feed, which covers nearly every podcast. Search for it by name, paste a link from your podcast app, or share an episode to Podstill. Shows exclusive to one platform and private feeds, such as subscriber-only feeds, can’t be added.
